RETURN POLICY

PLEASE COMPLETE AND SUBMIT THE RETURN FORM BELOW BEFORE RETURNING ANY PRODUCTS. CUSTOMERS MUST RECEIVE AN EMAIL CONFIRMATION BEFORE RETURNS ARE AUTHORIZED. Items sent to us without an approved return request will not be accepted.

Return window

All JS Alternators are custom built to order. New and unused standard alternators may be returned within 90 days of delivery to your address. We accept returns for both defective and non-defective items. After 90 days from the delivery date, all orders are non-refundable.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a return, your alternator must be in new condition — the same condition you received it in — and you will need your receipt or proof of purchase. Alternators that have been installed and used are not returnable or refundable.

Restocking fee

Returned alternators will be subject to a 10% restocking fee after full inspection.

Return shipping

If your alternator arrived defective or was damaged in shipping, we will email you a prepaid return label. An alternator that stops working after it has been installed and used is not considered defective — that is handled as a warranty repair, not a return (see below). For all other returns, you are responsible for return shipping.

Exchanges

Exchanges may be available for alternators in new condition that did not work properly for your vehicle. We do not accept exchanges for used products.

Returns by mail or in person

Returns may be mailed to us or brought to our shop in person — in-store returns are welcome.

Warranty repairs

If an alternator you have installed and used later stops working, that is handled as a warranty claim, not a return. You are responsible for shipping the alternator to us, and JS Alternators covers the cost of shipping it back to you after the warranty repair (within the continental US). Damages and issues

Please inspect your order on arrival and contact us immediately through the form below if the item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item, so we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Re-casing

Alternators in good condition may be re-cased for a different vehicle for $150. Customers are responsible for shipping the alternator to us.

Non-returnable items

All custom ordered alternators, including pulley, regulator, powder coating, and custom housings, are NON-RETURNABLE.

Big 3 Kits are NON-RETURNABLE.

"Universal" fit Alternators are NON-REFUNDABLE.

Gift cards are NON-RETURNABLE.

Replacement regulators, brush holders and other DIY alternator parts are NON-RETURNABLE.

Packaging your return

Please package your return carefully to avoid damage fees. Costs to repair damage caused by return shipping are the customer’s responsibility. DO NOT use packing peanuts — all packages shipped with packing peanuts will be returned to you at your expense.

Refunds

We will notify you once your return is received and inspected, and let you know whether the refund was approved. Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method — please allow 2–3 business days for the refund to clear. Your bank or card issuer may take additional time to post it.
